The Weekender Oxford is a shoe that lives at the convergence of smart style and off-the-clock comfort. Skip the break-in thanks to flexible stitchdown construction and make the most of a versatile look that’s wearable wherever the day takes you.
This classic shoe is triple stitched and constructed of Copper Rough & Tough Leather making it water, stain, and perspiration resistant. Oil-tanned leather has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. It is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 110+ year history.
I have been wearing these to work since receiving them earlier this week and wow am I impressed. I've always heard great things about Red Wing's boots and shoes in general, but had always held back from making a purchase of them due to the high price. Well, these Weekender Oxfords were on sale and after doing some research and reading others' opinions of them, I decided to take the risk and make the purchase. I can gladly say, NO REGRETS. These are so comfortable compared to what I've previously worn to work (business casual, office job). In the past I've worn various shoes to the office--most recently, Sperry boat shoes as well as Clarks chukkas. However, these Red Wing Weekender Oxfords blow those other shoes out of the park when it comes to both comfort and quality. You can immediately tell how much higher quality the leather is, and it only took me two or three wears to break them in. This leather develops patina over time, and after a week or so of wearing them, they are already looking great. And these can definitely fly for more formal occasions than just the office, as well as for more casual occasions on the weekends. Overall, I would highly recommend you check these out--and if you do, I suggest sizing down from what you regularly wear by a half size or a full size. I sized down by half a size, but I think I could have gone a full size smaller. Regardless, these still seem to fit well enough so I'm keeping them.
Easy purchase, painless exchange to get the size right, good deal.
