Darn Tough Factory Tour

We recently took a trip to Vermont and could not resist touring the Darn Tough mill where our favorite socks are made.  After traveling a few miles off the beaten path, we arrived at our destination and it was even cooler than we'd imagined. Robin, a facilities manager, guided us through isles of incredibly intricate sock weaving machines. We toured the space in awe, as the colorful threads bobbed and weaved overhead.

Each unit pulls the exact threads needed from across the room, knotting them faster than the eye can see. Then, four minutes later, a finished sock shoots through a tube and into a bin. An actual, wearable sock! It was truly an amazing process to witness. From there the socks are laundered, steamed pressed, sorted and packaged all while being manually checked for quality issues. It's no wonder Darn Tough socks deliver such superior quality!
